in today's media class, i think we have made a very significant progress - we've decided on our research topics and the developed the links between the 3 topics that we've chosen and put interests in, which are as follows:
- Jireh >> technology/media interactivity
- Alisa >> knowledge/education
- Astrid >> the choices in society
in terms of more in-depth research thinking of the specified area that we've chosen, i think it'll be available on the individual team member blogs (where we're going to post our researches on) - but eventually we should post some of the significant ones here - our group blog.
ps. sorry if i'm a bit of repeating what Jireh has posted earlier.

Here lies the blog of our group for GRAP 2268 Media Group A. Time to dump our findings here and get this project going! (since we've got our direction already)
To start things off, I'm gonna just type out the topic here again to remind us constantly what we are doing. Remember, we have to relate whatever questions and research we have to the topic.
The issue of Global warming has been discussed in scientific circles since the 1960's. It has taken until now for this issue to become one of absolute public currency. Why has it taken so long for this awareness to percolate through to the general public, and why did it only happen last year?Here's the brief on what we've decided on today;
The focus is on 'Choice VS Choices', where Choice is something which is made by an individual, and Choices are the range of different options made available to us. We also emphasized on making comparisons between the past and the present to try and find a trend that might lead us to a possible conclusion(or more questions) to what the topic is about. To further specify, we chose three areas to burrow into.
Education, where and how it has affected both the way people make choices and how it is molding media today?
Media, was there a difference between the past and the present in the method of publicizing these information? Is technology aiding public awareness of global warming or is it contributing to the calamity?(this might be alittle side-tracked, but I think it would be an interesting research since Miek brought it up today) And finally
Choices, does the people's choice in education/media affect the choices they make after?
Thats about as much as I can write for a summerized version of our discussion. By the way, do we want to use a black layout to help save power? Haha..
